Angel Rodriguez is a dynamic painter and sculptor who brings a unique mix of street art and tattoo styles to their work. After watching their dad doodle on paper, Angel developed an appreciation for art.
Angel's work showcases imaginative monsters the burst with personality. Angel’s art is an example of the creative evolution, and we can’t wait to see it all come to life at DEVIATE in downtown Beloit.
Tell us about you. I’m a chignon artist born in south side, grew up in Rockford, IL. I started to draw when I would watch my father come home from work and doodle on paper. I got older and then my cousin taught me how to get into tattoos and combined street art with tattoo style.
What inspires your art? I have to get inspired by going through something emotionally or mentally, it can change depending on current events around the world.
Knowing DEVIATE is an experiential, interactive art event, how do you envision participating and building your booth? I’m not much of an interactive artist, I just know my spray can monsters are cool for any one's eyes. I hope to come up with something everyone would love to come see.
