What inspires your art?

My art is inspired by previous burlesque performers and all the performing arts surrounding it including vaudeville, cabaret, circus and clowning. Burlesque is a highly misunderstood art form which I explain as a historic performing arts style combining dance, comedy, musical theater, and the art of the striptease. My personal burlesque style is inspired by sex workers & dominatrixes, and I enjoy creative storytelling through dance, costume, and characters. My favorite thing to explore with my performances is the dynamic between performer and audience member, and the roles we each take as the voyeur and the exhibitionist. I enjoy expanding these roles through audience interactions, involving the audience as participants in my acts, shifting places and sharing the spotlight with them for just a moment in time.
